Vision Therapy

What is vision therapy?

Vision therapy is a treatment program that is built by the doctors to address your specific needs. Vision therapy is similar to physical therapy in that vision therapy is exercises for your eye muscles. Vision therapy typically consists of in weekly in office visits as well as at home therapy. The initial program typically lasts for 3-6 months. 

Who needs vision therapy?

Vision therapy is a treatment program for patients of all ages. Patients with a lazy eye (amblyopia) or a wandering eye (strabismus) can benefit for vision therapy. Vision therapy can also aid in helping the eyes work together (binocular vision), and depth perception (stereopsis). Athletes can benefit from vision therapy, allowing their eyes to achieve peak performance.  

Common symptoms to look out for:

  • Eyestrain

  • Headaches

  • Difficulty reading

  • Losing place while reading

  • Difficulty being on the computer for long periods of time

  • Double vision

  • Difficulties in school
